Social Action in Action

Each year, Temple Judea's growing Social Action Committe looks for ways to serve our community and engage in true Tikun Olam.  There are opportunities for all ages.

*High Holy Day Food Drive
*"Family Promise" Host Congregation
* Mitzvah Day
*Telebuddy Program
*Support for Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies
*Going Green Support
*Bingo at the VA Hospital
*Eat & Schmooze for Holocaust Survivors
*Police Athletic League

Our Social Action Committee and the temple family have made an ongoing commitment to "Family Promise."  This is a community organization that addresses the needs of families who find themselves homeless because of unusual circumstances.  The goal is to give support through shelter, food, and finding employment to get families back on their feet.  Temple Judea is proud to be a host congregation, opening our building 3 times per year to house and support families within the program.  We are always looking for volunteers who can make a short time commitment.  We each get back an amazing experience from being a part of this program.

For questions about all programs and how you can get involved, contact Debbie Kinback or Nancy Wollman, co-chairs.
